About the Role

RhynoCare is a leading healthcare staffing agency that offers a wide range of job opportunities for healthcare professionals. As a Dietary Aide, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and support in our healthcare facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serving Food and Beverages: Prepare and serve food to residents according to individual diets and preferences.
  • Food Safety and Handling: Responsible for portion control of food items, safety precautions in assigned areas, and reporting unsafe incidents or safety concerns to management.
  • Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Responsible for safe operation of equipment, including documenting pot wash, dish machine, refrigerators, and freezer temperatures.
  • Catering and Delivery: Deliver catering to assigned locations throughout the hospital, including pick-up of dirty dishes for ware washing.
  • Meal Service and Preparation: Observe time limits for meal serving, maintain foods at proper serving temperature, and assist cooks with cleaning and preparing uncooked foods.
  • Cleaning and Sanitation: Clear plates and trays, load and operate dishwasher, and clean pots, pans, and cooking utensils as per procedure.
  • Inventory Management: Participate in proper storage and labeling of dietary supplies and food, including leftovers.
  • Quality Control: Responsible for checking and documenting temperatures and/or taste of items being prepared and/or served, according to pre-established guidelines and procedures.
  • Facility Maintenance: Responsible for proper cleaning and sanitation of equipment, utensils, and individual work areas.
  • Event Setup: Set up for catering events, including linens, chair covers, equipment, place settings, utensils, chaffing dishes, flowers, and any other customer-specific requests.
Requirements
  • Education and Certification: Successful completion and/or enrollment in a Food Service Worker Program meeting the requirements of the Ontario Long-Term Care Homes Act required.
  • Food Handlers Certification: Must have Food Handlers Certification approved by Public Health Department.
  • Availability: Must be available to work days, evenings, weekends, and stat holidays.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to do moderate to heavy lifting and stand for long periods of time.
  • Screening: Current (within 6 months) Vulnerable Position/Sector Screening (VPS) required.
  • Experience: Experience working in a kitchen or food service setting preferred.
