Pharmacy Assistant Role

CareRx, Canada's leading provider of pharmacy services to seniors communities, is seeking a skilled Pharmacy Assistant to support our team in maintaining the quality and safety of our medications.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the preparation, packaging, and organization of medication deliveries, requiring exceptional attention to detail and strong communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate documentation of completed work as per policies and procedures
  • Prepare prescriptions (gathering data from nursing staff) to be filled via pharmacy software
  • Process, adjudicate, and fill prescriptions
  • Prepare compounds, creams, liquids, etc.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and ethical standards

Requirements:

  • Experience as a Pharmacy Assistant or certification from an accredited Pharmacy Assistant program
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, able to maintain a professional demeanor when speaking with clientele
  • Remains calm under pressure and is able to meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent organizational skills and detail oriented
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated customer service experience; strong motivation to succeed
  • Possess a positive, cooperative and team-oriented attitude
