About the Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources Business Partner to join our team at WSP. As a key member of our HR function, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our leaders and employees to drive business success and create a positive employee experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Talent Development & Management: Oversee the annual Performance and Development cycle process, coordinating with regions to implement the Global Performance Development process. Identify recruitment needs and work with international talent attraction teams to identify job classification. Coach and support leaders on new hires and/or changes resulting from the new job architecture.
  • Performance Management: Provide advice and counsel on performance management issues. Partner with leaders to address performance gaps and facilitate discussions to assess appropriate action. Provide coaching to managers on all aspects of performance, including delivering effective feedback and improving performance.
  • Total Compensation: Coordinate the annual compensation program. Prepare comparative analysis and formulate salary recommendations based on regional guidelines and structure. Collaborate in the development of documentation and implementation of compensation processes and practices.
  • Succession Planning: Participate in the succession planning process by facilitating discussions surrounding the identification of emerging diverse talent. Ensure that top talent have appropriate development plans to thrive and grow within the organization.
  • Offboarding: Partner with operational leaders to coach and prepare them for involuntary offboarding discussions with employees. Participate in meetings with those leaders, prioritizing the safety and well-being of employees. Coordinate with regions on administrative offboarding activities.
  • Policy/Procedure/Employment Practices: Ensure the efficient delivery and coordination of HR processes and practices, including international stakeholders. Participate effectively in resolving employee relations issues. Work with worldwide Human Resource expertise centers to ensure alignment of certain processes.
  • Engagement: Work closely with the Director Global Talent Development on engagement surveys. Analyze data to provide sound advice to leaders on key actions required to increase engagement. Work with leaders to develop engagement action plans and encourage participation in engagement surveys.
  • Additional Tasks: Define and lead enhancement initiatives related to retention, performance, and talent management and compensation. Maintain various Excel spreadsheets, including headcount, bonus, merit increase, etc. Other tasks as assigned/required in a stimulating, innovative, and entrepreneurial environment. Responsible for employee data integrity.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience as a generalist in human resources, including working with senior leaders.
  • Demonstrated competence in various HR functional areas: compensation, employee relations, management coaching, organizational development, and diversity and inclusion.
  • Experience in a large, multinational, matrixed environment working collaboratively with CoEs.
  • Excellent written and communication skills in English are essential; French would be an asset.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Post-secondary education in human resources management, industrial relations, or a field relevant to the position.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Excel.
  • Well-developed influencing skills, unquestioned integrity, and the experience, confidence, and stature to effectively address sensitive HR issues.
  • Proactive in developing and effectively introducing alternatives to current People and Culture practices, as appropriate.
  • Capability, energy, experience, presence, and accountability outlook to quickly establish and maintain the People & Culture team's credibility, coupled with the ability to influence management and resolve conflicts.
  • Informal roll-up-your-sleeves-and-get-it-done leadership style that is people-centric, effective, and marked by a high level of energy.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in time-sensitive situations.
  • Demonstrate excellent organizational skills.

  • Available to occasionally participate in virtual meetings that may take place in different time zones.
  • Knowledge of Oracle, an asset.
