About the Position

We are currently seeking a Property Claims Field Specialist to enhance our expanding property team.

Location Flexibility: We welcome applications from candidates throughout Newfoundland & Labrador.

Note: The specific level of the position will be based on your skills, experience, and educational background.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and interpret gathered information, insurance language, and damages to determine coverage in various scenarios.
  • Evaluate potential liabilities of the insured and third parties by consulting with specialists.
  • Engage in negotiations with clients, claimants, legal representatives, and insurers to resolve claims within your authority.
  • Oversee field assignments on behalf of internal adjusters.
  • Participate in claims and work management during peak volume periods as needed.
  • Collaborate effectively with teams across appraisal, underwriting, and legal departments.
  • Ensure efficient cost management practices.
  • Stay informed about current trends in insurance products, appraisal methods, and investigative services.

Qualifications:

  • Possession of an Adjuster permit (5A).
  • A university degree or a relevant combination of training and experience.
  • A minimum of three years of experience as an adjuster, preferably in a field role.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Willingness to travel on short notice.
  • Familiarity with insurance products.
  • No prior Canadian work experience is necessary; however, eligibility to work in Canada is required.
