Position Overview:

The role involves overseeing the construction initiatives, ensuring the successful delivery of projects within the healthcare sector. We are seeking a Construction Supervisor with substantial experience in healthcare facilities. The ideal candidate should possess: 8-10 years of experience in healthcare construction, having managed at least one project valued at over $50 million or several projects in the $15 million range. The position will primarily focus on projects in the Southeastern region of the United States, with a preference for candidates located in the greater Atlanta area, though travel may be required.

Key Responsibilities:

The selected individual will be responsible for:

  1. Executing all supervisory duties effectively.
  2. Implementing and enforcing safety protocols.
  3. Participating in safety training sessions.
  4. Verifying insurance certificates for subcontractors.
  5. Maintaining and managing the project schedule using CPM techniques.
  6. Building trust and rapport with owners and architects.
  7. Recruiting, organizing, training, and leading the field construction team, including subcontractor work.
  8. Ensuring high-quality work by establishing quality control standards.
  9. Ordering materials and tools efficiently to prevent emergency purchases.
  10. Preparing essential documentation, including time sheets, work orders, daily reports, and invoice approvals.
  11. Timely completion of punch lists.
  12. Reviewing all project drawings, specifications, and subcontractor submissions.
  13. Leading pre-job conferences and regular subcontractor meetings.
  14. Conducting start-up testing and facilitating turnover to the owner.
  15. Documenting final project close-out and securing owner acceptance.
  16. Performing manual tasks only in exceptional circumstances when necessary.
  17. Traveling as required by management.
  18. Supervising multiple projects across a broad geographic area as needed.
  19. Completing additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  1. 8-10 years of experience in healthcare construction projects.
  2. Experience managing two healthcare projects in the $50 million range or multiple projects in the $15 million range.
  3. A minimum of 8 years in a leadership capacity on construction projects.
  4. Experience in staff development.
  5. A degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture, or equivalent experience.
  6. Extensive field experience in construction at a supervisory level (minimum of 8 years as a Supervisor).
  7. Current Safety Trained Supervisor (STS) Certification or the ability to obtain it within six months of hire.
  8. Comprehensive knowledge of various trades and the ability to interpret specifications for all trades, with prior experience as a foreman or journeyman in at least one trade or as a project engineer.
  9. Familiarity with OSHA regulations.
  10. Understanding of job scheduling, planning, expediting, and cost control, with proficiency in P6 being a plus.
  11. Strong problem-solving skills.
  12. A sense of urgency in project execution.
