The Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Client Operations Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for:

  • Conflict checking and database searches for new clients and matters
  • Reviewing engagement letters for compliance with firm policies
  • Opening new clients and matters, ensuring firm and Law Society requirements are met
  • Cross-training functions within the department
  • Liaising with patent agents, lawyers, and assistants
  • Producing high-quality work and being accountable for all assigned tasks
  • Taking initiative and maintaining confidentiality

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 year's experience as a conflict administrator, legal assistant, or law clerk
  • Previous administrative work experience relating to patent, accounting, and/or billing functions is an asset
  • Experience in a legal or professional services setting is strongly preferred
  • Ability to handle time pressure situations and stress of multiple demands

Skills:

  • Microsoft suite of applications
  • Experience with Aderant or Elite accounting software is preferred
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Organized and detailed
