Position Overview

The Director of Digital Services & Delivery, reporting to the AVP of Information Services and CIO, is tasked with ensuring the effective delivery of front-facing IT services while cultivating a culture of service excellence throughout the university. This role encompasses oversight of:

  • Analysis and management of MacEwan's application ecosystem, including ERP, learning management systems, CRM, web development, and various cloud solutions.
  • Provision of digital processing capabilities through both internal and external services.
  • Establishment and maintenance of the university's network infrastructure.
Strategic Planning
  • Formulating long-term strategic objectives and standards for Digital Services & Delivery in collaboration with IT leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Ensuring the development and upkeep of integrated digital solutions.
  • Creating a comprehensive multi-year roadmap for enhancements across Digital Services & Delivery.
  • Contributing to IT governance frameworks to guide decision-making processes.
  • Collaborating with the Director of Enterprise Architecture to explore emerging technologies.
  • Defining success metrics for Digital Services initiatives and overseeing their implementation.
  • Fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Identifying opportunities for investment and developing business case justifications.
  • Managing vendor relationships in partnership with the Business Operations unit.
  • Executing change management strategies to support institutional initiatives.
Leadership and Management
  • Participating in the ITS leadership team to enhance IT service operations.
  • Reviewing and optimizing the organizational structure of Digital Services & Delivery.
  • Leading and mentoring staff, ensuring effective workload management and professional development.
  • Maintaining a succession plan for critical roles within the department.
  • Overseeing budget management and resource allocation.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant policies and regulations.
Operational Excellence
  • Overseeing the design and delivery of strategic technology solutions.
  • Building an operational roadmap and prioritizing initiatives.
  • Improving software development processes and enhancing operational policies.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure a secure and efficient software development lifecycle.
  • Monitoring and reporting on key performance metrics.
  • Ensuring compliance with industry standards and internal policies.
Candidate Profile

Qualifications: A master's degree in business, computer science, or a related field is preferred, along with significant experience in IT management. Experience in a unionized environment is advantageous.
