Role Summary: We are seeking a Lead Project Coordinator to oversee small to medium-sized oil and gas projects. This role involves working autonomously and in a leadership capacity, ensuring effective coordination among engineering disciplines and managing all technical aspects of assigned projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary Project Manager or Senior Project Engineer for designated projects or feasibility studies.
  • Engage directly with clients to define project scopes based on their requirements.
  • Assign tasks to the project team and coordinate activities across various engineering, drafting, and design personnel.
  • Facilitate the initiation of complex engineering tasks, including necessary calculations.
  • Develop essential project documentation, including the Project Charter, Design Basis Memorandum, execution plans, budgets, and schedules.
  • Prepare and maintain engineering control documents derived from the master project schedule.
  • Ensure engineering specifications meet project requirements, collaborating with other project and design engineers.
  • Implement quality control measures to adhere to both company and client standards.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with clients and manage external relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Oversee the procurement of materials and services, ensuring alignment with budget, schedule, safety, and quality objectives.
  • Assist in the formulation and upkeep of company policies and engineering standards.
  • Participate in manpower planning and project review meetings to ensure work distribution and continuity.
  • Make informed decisions on project matters, particularly those impacting significant financial or long-term objectives.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Engineering or Applied Science from a recognized institution.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in project management within the engineering sector.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Bluebeam Revu; familiarity with software such as AspenTech, ProMax, and others is advantageous.
  • Experience in capital cost estimating and engineering man-hour estimating.
  • Exposure to environmental engineering projects, including renewable energy and waste management, is a plus.

Compensation: The salary range for this position is CAD $140,000 - $180,000, commensurate with experience. This is a full-time role.
