Join Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) as a Healthcare Unit Coordinator
Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a dedicated Healthcare Unit Coordinator to become part of our dynamic team. This position plays a crucial role in supporting patient care and ensuring smooth operations within the healthcare setting.
Responsibilities of the Healthcare Unit Coordinator include:
Collaborating within a team-oriented environment while executing clerical and receptionist tasks to facilitate patient care delivery. Prioritizing the needs of patients and their families above all other responsibilities. Performing a variety of administrative duties such as: transcribing and processing medical orders, liaising with various departments to coordinate patient appointments and transportation, arranging diagnostic tests and managing results, welcoming visitors, answering phone inquiries, and prioritizing requests. Organizing and maintaining patient records, coordinating admissions and discharges. Managing timekeeping functions and compiling relevant statistics. Drafting and distributing various technical and non-technical reports and documentation. Keeping an inventory of office supplies and ensuring proper maintenance of filing systems.About the Community

Qualifications
Education & Experience
Completion of Grade 12, along with medical terminology and graduation from an accredited Healthcare Unit Coordinator program. A minimum of one (1) year of recent, relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.Skills & Competencies
Proficient communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to interact effectively with others. Physical capability to fulfill the duties of the position. Competence in typing at least 40 words per minute. Strong organizational skills. Proficiency in operating relevant equipment. Familiarity with various computer software applications.Additional Information
The work schedule, including days off and work area, may be subject to change based on operational needs. Successful candidates may be required to undergo a Criminal Records Review Check.
