About the Role

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Nursing Unit Assistant to join our Ambulatory Care team at Sechelt Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will provide exceptional support to our healthcare professionals, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clerical and receptionist support to the healthcare team, ensuring efficient communication and coordination of patient care.
  • Assist with various administrative tasks, including data entry, filing, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Perform a range of tasks, including transcribing orders, coordinating appointments, and arranging transportation.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient charts, ensuring timely and efficient care.
  • Perform timekeeping functions and compile statistics to support quality improvement initiatives.
About Sechelt Hospital

Sechelt Hospital is a 46-bed acute care facility serving over 30,000 residents of the Lower Sunshine Coast. Our hospital provides a range of services, including emergency care, renal programs, mental health and substance use services, surgical services, and imaging services.

Qualifications
  • Grade 12, medical terminology, and graduation from a recognized Nursing Unit Clerk program.
  • One year's recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
