Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a Healthcare Unit Coordinator to support the Intensive Care Unit. This role is essential in ensuring smooth operations and exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities of the Healthcare Unit Coordinator include:
Collaborating within a team-oriented environment while performing clerical and receptionist duties to enhance client care delivery. Prioritizing client and family needs above all other responsibilities. Executing various clerical tasks such as: transcribing and processing physician orders, coordinating client appointments and transportation with other departments, arranging tests and managing results, greeting visitors, answering phone calls, and prioritizing requests. Organizing and maintaining client records, facilitating admissions and discharges. Managing timekeeping tasks and compiling relevant statistics. Typing and distributing a range of technical and non-technical documents. Keeping an inventory of office supplies and ensuring filing systems are up to date.About the Work Environment

Qualifications
Education & Experience
Completion of Grade 12, along with medical terminology training and graduation from an accredited Nursing Unit Clerk program, plus one year of recent, relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.Skills & Competencies
Proficient communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with others. Physical capability to perform the duties required by the position. Typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute. Organizational skills to manage work effectively. Ability to operate relevant equipment. Familiarity with various computer software applications.Additional Information
The work schedule, including days off and specific work areas, may vary based on operational needs. Successful candidates may need to undergo a Criminal Records Review Check.
