About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources Team Lead to join our Aluminium Division in Kitimat, BC. As a key member of our HR team, you will play a crucial role in aligning HR strategies with business objectives, providing dedicated HR support to an operational department, and overseeing a team of HR Advisors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement HR initiatives aligned with business plans and objectives
  • Manage the delivery of projects and initiatives on the People Plan
  • Collaborate with HR Business Partner colleagues, area leaders, and stakeholders to develop and implement HR initiatives
  • Lead and develop the performance of the advisory team in alignment with company values
  • Provide coaching to enhance effective workplace relationships and employee management skills
  • Utilize human resource reporting and metrics to identify and resolve emerging HR issues
  • Provide hands-on support to operational leaders, including day-to-day HR needs
  • Contribute to the establishment of collective agreements and guide the Collective Bargaining process
Requirements
  • 7+ years of extensive generalist HR or labour relations experience, ideally in a heavy industry or natural resources environment
  • Demonstrated experience leading a team and delivering HR projects
  • Excellent understanding of unionized labour relations practices and the collective bargaining process
  • Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation an asset
