Job Summary

The University Health Network is seeking a highly skilled Kinesiologist to join our Cancer Rehabilitation and Survivorship team. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will work closely with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care and support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess patients' physical and functional limitations and strengths, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Implement and coordinate treatment plans to improve physical functioning, manage health conditions, and prevent further decline in patients.
  • Participate in group exercise sessions, both in-person and virtually, to promote patient engagement and empowerment.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of treatment plans and make adjustments as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Contribute to research activities related to kinesiology and interdisciplinary care, staying up-to-date with best practices and evidence-based guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the quality improvement team to ensure efficient and effective operation of the working environment, adhering to Occupational Health & Safety regulations.

Requirements

  • Minimum completion of a bachelor's degree in kinesiology or a recognized equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of practical experience in managing oncology patients and coordinating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Demonstrated conflict resolution and creative problem-solving skills, with a commitment to patient-centered care.
  • Current registration and membership in good standing with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario (COKO).
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (C Level) Heart Saver Plus Canada certification.
  • Membership with the Ontario Kinesiology Association, preferred.
