About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our Cancer Rehabilitation and Survivorship team at the University Health Network. As an integral member of our interdisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life of patients with oncology diagnoses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop personalized treatment plans to help patients prevent, alleviate, or minimize dysfunction and facilitate their successful engagement in meaningful activities.
  • Provide individual and group-based patient and non-patient care activities to promote patient-centered care and improve patient outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively with members of the inter-professional team to ensure seamless care coordination and patient-focused care.
  • Develop and implement education programs for patients and their families to promote health literacy and self-management skills.
  • Supervise and train Occupational Therapy students to ensure they receive high-quality education and training.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, meetings, committees, and quality initiatives to drive continuous improvement and excellence in care.
Requirements
  • Completion of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy (B.Sc. (OT)) or equivalent.
  • Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario.
  • Member of Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT) and/or Ontario Society of Occupational Therapists (OSOT) is preferred.
  • Ability to exercise sound clinical judgment and function independently in a self-directed manner.
  • Previous experience working as an OT in a physical medicine and rehabilitation setting is required.
  • Previous experience working with oncology patients is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrates strong and effective written, oral, and nonverbal communication skills.
  • Ability to perform the physical demands of the job.
