Role Overview: The Safety and Compliance Coordinator will support the LOTO Manager in executing daily operational tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the designated representative for the LOTO Manager when necessary.
  • Serve as the Track Allocation Coordinator.
  • Evaluate Permits alongside the Permit Receiver.
  • Ensure Permit applications are thorough and accurate.
  • Verify that all necessary supporting documents accompany Permits.
  • Distribute Permits to Contractors.
  • Assess approved Permits to ensure Permit Receivers are functioning within their designated areas and scopes of work.
  • Collaborate with Temporary Operations and the LOTO Manager to address any technical challenges that may occur.
  • Conduct data entry for the Permit Office and maintain comprehensive records of all permits.
  • Facilitate communication between the Permit Office and field personnel from Contractors.
  • Lead Permit Meetings and participate in other coordination meetings as required.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a Permit-to-Work role.
  • Experience in energized installations and LOTO practices is essential.
  • Familiarity with Permit-to-Work systems applicable to energized environments.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities to effectively engage with diverse project team members.
  • A safety-oriented mindset, capable of collaborating with stakeholders in a supportive manner.
  • Exceptional problem-solving capabilities, with a knack for planning and organization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience in maintaining tracking systems and databases.
  • Willingness to work on a site-based rotational schedule if not local.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety Regulatory Requirements, Construction Industry Best Practices, CSA-Z462 workplace electrical safety, and industry standards for the commissioning, maintenance, and operation of LRT-related equipment is advantageous.
