Position Overview

Role Summary

What does this role entail?

  • The Finance Manager for Global Functions is tasked with overseeing the comprehensive process for NIE estimates and NIAT estimate submissions pertaining to Global Functions.
  • Centralized management of all hierarchy modifications for Global Functions, including requests for new transitions, rollups, and the cleanup of concluded transitions.
  • Accountable for the punctual delivery of relevant financial reporting packages while optimizing processes to enhance efficiency.
  • Offer guidance and assistance to end-users regarding Finance systems, business rules (lines, hierarchies, product, and segmentation) issues or requirements.

What responsibilities will you undertake?

Performance Oversight:

  • Oversee the weekly NIE estimate process, including the administration of the EPM estimate tool for Global Functions. This encompasses establishing the foundation for T-5 estimates, updating the tool with STI updates and Apptio adjustments as they arise, and preparing executive presentations and communications regarding the NIE estimates.
  • Foster strong relationships with finance teams across business platforms, providing proactive updates on T-5 and GV NIE estimates, including variance analysis.
  • Lead the preparation and submission of NIAT estimate submissions for Head Office Performance Management and QAR under stringent timelines. This involves collaboration with the Occupancy finance team and Functions finance FAs to gather their inputs/changes and articulate the narrative surrounding GF NIAT and modifications.
  • Coordinate with the Financial Control team to manage and analyze accrual guidance for Variable Compensation, offering recommendations for any necessary adjustments.
  • Compile monthly disclosures and variance analysis packages for Head Office Performance Management and FRR.
  • Provide analytical support for Functions charges to Platforms concerning Actuals, Forecast, Plan, and 5-Year Outlook.

Hierarchy Oversight:

  • Serve as the lead for managing hierarchy change requests for all of Global Functions, ensuring requests are complete and aligned with business requirements.
  • Maintain GL-RLN hierarchies for Functions charges and recoveries, monitoring business rules to ensure all changes and new items are accurately mapped.
  • Lead the management of hierarchy and lookup files utilized by RSS, the Global Functions Platform team, and CAS for downstream reporting.

Projects & Additional Responsibilities:

  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in various projects and conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Continuously seek efficiencies and process enhancements.
  • Manage the internal deliverables calendar and collaborate with Functions FAs to meet target deadlines.
  • Engage in other assigned activities, including ad-hoc analysis and reporting.

What qualifications are essential for success?

Required:

  • A degree in Analytics, Finance, or Business with a minimum of 3 years of industry experience.
  • Capability to manage multiple priorities, effectively prioritize tasks, and deliver results within tight deadlines.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with a strong emphasis on control.
  • In-depth knowledge of finance systems and processes within financial institutions.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • High proficiency in Excel.
  • Must be an independent, proactive, creative, and innovative self-starter.
  • Advocate for and support innovative solutions focused on continuous improvement.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with Financial Advisors and other Finance team members.

Preferred:

  • Experience and knowledge of EPM Cognos/TM1 finance systems.
