Director, Corporate Support Financial Control

As a key member of the Finance Professionals Inc. team, you will play a critical role in supporting multiple business segments, including Finance, Risk Management, and Internal Audit. You will lead a team in the Financial Control function, ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting and providing accounting interpretation and guidance.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Establish and maintain a robust control and governance framework, including monthly GL reconciliation review and attestation, process map implementation, and resolution of outstanding issues.
  2. Lead the month-end close process, ensuring complete financial reporting and timely submission of month-end templates to the Head Office.
  3. Manage the global attestation and reconciliation process for the Platform, ensuring compliance with Enterprise standards.
  4. Provide strategic direction and oversight for the control environment in the Platform, ensuring compliance with SOX and other audit requirements.
  5. Act as the main contact for global incentive programs, including long-term and short-term bonus programs.
  6. Coordinate with various groups to ensure accurate external reporting, including MD&A, B/S, P&L, Note disclosures, regulatory reporting, and supplemental formats.
  7. Review accounting policy issues and liaise with the Accounting Policy Group to determine appropriate accounting treatments.
  8. Act as a change agent within the team, providing recommendations for improving internal processes and enhancing the efficiency of month-end close.
  9. Effectively manage and develop a team of finance professionals to foster a high-performance culture.
  10. Lead special projects as assigned by the Senior Director, Corporate Support Financial Control.
Requirements:
  1. MUST have an Accounting designation (CPA, CA).
  2. 5+ years in a Financial Control position.
  3. Strong management capabilities.
  4. A team player with strong communication skills, able to work with multiple stakeholders.
  5. Strategic thinker, with a process improvement mindset.
