Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Installation Engineer to join our team at Alstom Gruppe. As a key member of our Signaling Project Installation team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality installation engineering services for our railway signaling systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver installation engineering studies, including Bill of Installation Materials/Quantities, Method Statements, and Installation Materials Specification Requirements.
  • Assess and report on the Prime's progress, generating internal reporting and action plans as needed.
  • Deliver installation engineering activities in accordance with Alstom System requirements.
  • Create, review, and sign off installation design, including Installation Method statements, drawings, and site copies of drawings with red and yellow mark-ups.
  • Manage punch lists and regular follow-ups to close them, ensuring that 'as built' drawings are in place before revenue service.
  • Create and review Installation BOQs and updates as per project requirements.
  • Supervise first article inspections and obtain approvals from end users, generating traceability to installation requirements.
  • Manage installation tools and organize regular inspections, including calibration dates and notice to use.
  • Decide on start of work based on 4M Checklist for starting installation engineering activities.
  • Report on project installation activities and actions.
  • Proficiency in using BIM/AutoCAD/Microstation to create/modify 2D drawings.
  • Attention to detail to understand mechanical and electrical drawings for installation.
  • Familiarity with both mechanical and electrical basic tools for testing and verification tests of installation.
  • Good communication skills and familiarity with working in a unionized environment.
  • Proficiency in computer office applications such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Able to work in the office and field under seasonal environmental conditions.
  • Able to work under the safety rules outlined by site, company, and industry.
  • Occasional international travel may be required.
Requirements
  • Engineer Degree level or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certified in Autocad and/or other Design tools desirable.
  • P.Eng certification or in progress.
  • Experience in railway site management.
  • Strong knowledge of Railway products and service knowledge on different market segments.
  • 10+ years production experience in design, drafting, or engineering.
  • Environmental, Health and Safety background desired.
  • Experience of management by Quality, Cost, and Delivery objectives desired.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Quality focused, team player.
