About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Director to lead our Signaling Projects team at Alstom Gruppe. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for managing and organizing the engineering department to ensure successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Management
    • Manage and organize the Signaling Engineering Team according to business and project needs.
    • Manage workforce according to workload and ensure Best Cost Country roadmap.
  • Co-Engineering and Improvement
    • Drive co-engineering especially with process engineering and co-development with suppliers via Procurement.
    • Push improvement programs based on central recommendations and local initiatives.
  • Engineering Strategy and Vision
    • Develop on-site engineering staff including succession plan and competency matrix deployment.
    • Apply common processes, methods, and tools and capture Return of Experience for continuous improvement.
  • Project Cost Management
    • Supervise products, key technical decisions, and safety-critical issues and capitalise on Return of Experience.
    • Monitor project cost programs in engineering.
  • Communication and Leadership
    • Manage cost center, budget preparation, and monitoring Structural Overheads including recovery during the year.
    • Support and promote innovations.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related scientific subjects.
  • Experience
    • 10+ years of Signaling experience.
    • 5+ years of team management of engineering teams.
    • Engineering background including project deployment full lifecycle view until commissioning.
  • Skills
    • Products and services knowledge in different market segments (Urban, Mainline).
    • Safety background.
    • Engineering processes, tools, and methods.
    • Engineering strategy and vision definition.
    • Presentation and communication skills.
    • Good financial understanding.
    • Strong leadership and people management experience.
    • Cooperation and change management.
