Barrick is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Maintenance Planner to join our team. As a key member of our Reliability Excellence team, you will be responsible for ensuring that maintenance technicians have the necessary tools, parts, and supporting documents to complete scheduled work orders in a safe and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement effective maintenance plans to minimize equipment downtime and optimize production.
- Utilize Reliability Excellence (RE) corporate and enterprise/group guidelines and procedures to maximize equipment reliability and availability.
- Create sequenced work plans in accordance with RCM strategies to ensure asset health and overall production quality.
- Plan and execute routine and non-routine repair procedures and preventative maintenance tasks to ensure compliance with fundamental plant maintenance procedures and practices.
- Review and validate work notifications through the CMMS to ensure requests meet minimum requirements of a work order.
- Provide detailed work plans on documented work orders for all non-urgent maintenance activities.
- Establish validation and completion requirements.
- Assist in route maintenance activities and coordinate with Purchasing and Stores to order and reserve materials.
- Scope work orders to estimate cost, labor, materials, equipment, and special tool requirements.
- Maintain job plan libraries to support required non-routine work, projects, and overhauls via the CMMS.
- Act as the CMMS Super User for workflow processes.
- Ensure that the highest standards of Environmental and Safety performance are incorporated within Plant operations.
- Implement daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly scheduling to maintain established targets.
- Coordinate with all production activities to maintain established targets.
- Administer consistently all systems, standards, company rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Contribute to the Continuous Improvement Program by proactive, measurable involvement.
- Optimally manage Human Resources with the help of indicators such as quality, overtime, training, and development.
- Support business and facility Reliability Excellence vision.
- Support common reliability processes and metrics to achieve targeted results from maintenance and reliability practices.
- Validate the importance of Reliability Excellence through key Planning metrics.
- Support and leverage business Reliability Excellence direction and leadership for continuous improvement of the Planning Function.
- Competent in root cause failure analysis to continuously improve the reliability of the plant.
- Practical experience in maintenance industry, preferably mine related.
- 2 years' experience with computer-based maintenance planning/scheduling.
- Ability to read, understand, and maintain electrical drawings and schematics utilizing applicable methods.
- Electrical certification in the Province of Ontario; preferred.
- Sound understanding of both the principles of Preventative maintenance and Maintenance planning.
- Clear understanding of the maintenance standards and procedures.
- Ability to work effectively with a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) SAP.
- Communication, leadership, and team building skills.
- Strong prioritization, organization, and reasoning skills.
- Strong electrical and some mechanical expertise in troubleshooting and problem solving.
- Ability to walk down a job to assure work has been completed per standard work instruction and follows applicable code per site location.
- Ability to develop individuals to achieve better results.
- Proficient in follow-up and feedback.
- Climbing equipment ladders.
- Valid Ontario Driver's License.
- Previous Maintenance Planner or Coordinator experience.
- Associate degree in a technical discipline.
- Previous experience with a CMMS (Maximo, SAP, Oracle Plant Maintenance, etc.).
- Experience in challenging environments (mining, corrosive environment, or other conditions, etc.).
