Electrical Maintenance Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Maintenance Specialist to join our Plant Department team at Barrick. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repairs of all electrical equipment hardware and software in our 8500 TPD mechanized underground gold mine.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental, health, and safety acts, policies, and procedures.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and implement effective maintenance plans to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with the Surface Electrical Supervisor to prioritize maintenance activities and allocate resources effectively.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members and contractors.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance processes and improve overall efficiency.
  • Communicate effectively with the team, supervisors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless coordination and execution of maintenance activities.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in electrical maintenance to ensure the team remains at the forefront of innovation.

Requirements:

  • Electrical Engineering Technologist or equivalent experience.
  • Industrial electrical certification (Red Seal) is an asset.
  • Experience with GE, DC Drives, GE PLC Systems, and Auto CAD.
  • Approximately five years of technical experience in electrical maintenance.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
