Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to assist with the development and coordination of industry partnerships for the Applied Science Co-op Program at The University of British Columbia. The successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Manager, Business Development and Industry Engagement to identify and engage with local, national, and international employers and professional associations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and identify potential employers and industry partners to develop strategic relationships and promote the Applied Science Co-op Program.
  • Collaborate with Co-op Advisors to develop and maintain academic-related work terms, including job postings, interview coordination, and student placement.
  • Coordinate and execute student/industry events, including pre-event planning, promotion, and event-day management.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with employers, Co-op Advisors, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and program delivery.
  • Assist in the production of branding materials and publications to promote the Applied Science Co-op Program.
  • Provide administrative support to the Senior Manager, Business Development and Industry Engagement, including scheduling appointments, maintaining records, and generating reports.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies to enhance the Applied Science Co-op Program and its relationships with industry partners.

Requirements:

  • High School graduation, plus two year post-secondary diploma, plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of discretion and tact.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to learn new programs and technologies, with a willingness to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Related Co-op or marketing experience, with a strong understanding of industry partnerships and program development.
  • Experience working in a business development or sales role, with a strong understanding of marketing and promotion strategies.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and market the Applied Science Co-op Program to employers and industry partners.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and develop creative solutions.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of flexibility and adaptability.
