Role Overview:
Reporting to the Vice President of People and Culture, the Director of Talent Management and Organizational Effectiveness spearheads the Centre of Excellence for all aspects of Talent Development, Planning, and Organizational Development at Flipp. This role is essential in collaborating and partnering on the overall People and Talent strategy for the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Vision and Implementation
- Deliver strategic, data-driven insights and recommendations regarding Flipp's Performance and People Development initiatives to align with business objectives.
- Oversee the successful execution and evaluation of Talent Management and Organizational Effectiveness programs.
- Develop a cohesive Talent Management framework that ensures effective utilization of talent data to inform organizational decisions.
- Utilize systems thinking to assess organizational structures and processes, fostering a high-performance culture that meets current and anticipates future needs.
- Advocate for strategic talent management across all organizational levels by effectively engaging key stakeholders.
- Stay informed on external best practices in Talent Management and proactively advise on focus areas to drive impact.
Advisory Role and Influence
- Collaborate with business leaders, People Operations, and HR Business Partners to implement Talent Management initiatives.
- Serve as a mentor and advisor to teams within People and Culture and the Leadership Team on critical Talent Management aspects.
- Lead the direct team to ensure alignment of HR strategies and effective program execution.
- Manage and mentor two direct reports, the Manager of Talent Acquisition and the Senior Manager of Learning and Growth.
Talent Acquisition and Employer Branding
- Oversee the strategy and execution of Talent Acquisition efforts and Flipp's Employer brand.
- Guide and develop the Talent Acquisition Manager to foster the growth of the overall team.
- Encourage a mindset of continuous improvement in Talent Acquisition processes to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Support global hiring initiatives in collaboration with the Talent Acquisition Manager.
Organizational Development and Program Management
- Define and lead a flexible and scalable talent management strategy in partnership with HR Business Partners.
- Utilize data to identify workforce capability gaps and shape a forward-looking talent management strategy.
- Implement strategies to develop and retain talent, supporting Flipp's vision of enhancing talent density and fostering a high-performance culture.
- Oversee employee engagement initiatives and action plans through regular engagement surveys.
- Lead Talent Reviews in collaboration with HR Business Partners to identify top talent and succession planning.
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of talent management initiatives, tracking relevant metrics.
- Apply expertise in Change Management and Organizational Design to assess workforce needs and drive strategic effectiveness.
- Lead the implementation of change management practices that align with organizational growth and agility.
- Partner with Employee Resource Groups to support Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 8 years of HR experience, preferably in technology or high-growth sectors.
- 3+ years as an HR Business Partner preferred.
- 3-5+ years of experience managing and coaching teams.
- Demonstrated leadership in successful talent management programs.
- Expertise in change management and organizational effectiveness.
- Self-directed, collaborative, and accountable.
- Proven ability to influence key stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills for data-driven decision-making.
- Business acumen to effectively drive people programs.
- Ability to engage effectively across all organizational levels.
- Experience in global or scaling companies preferred.
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Human Resources, Psychology, or Organizational Psychology is ideal.
- Advanced degree or certification in a relevant discipline is a plus.
- CHRL Designation or equivalent is considered an asset.
