Job Title: Resource Development Coordinator

Shawenim Abinoojii Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Resource Development Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing programs that promote the well-being of children and youth in our community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with community organizations and stakeholders to identify and address the needs of children and youth.
  • Develop and implement programs that promote cultural awareness, traditional knowledge, and community engagement.
  • Research and apply for grants to support program development and implementation.
  • Provide regular program reports to stakeholders and management.
  • Recruit and engage community members, Elders, and Knowledge Keepers to participate in program development and delivery.
  • Develop and deliver workshops, events, and activities that promote cultural awareness and community engagement.
  • Collaborate with community resources, such as SECFS and Jordan's Principle, to support program development and delivery.
  • Host community events and activities that promote healthy recreation and community engagement.
  • Practice inclusion and encourage community members to participate in events and activities.
  • Travel to community locations as needed to support program delivery.
  • Utilize a strength-based approach to identify responses to community needs.
Qualifications:
  • Grade 12 education and experience in project development.
  • Satisfactory Child Abuse, Vulnerable Person check and Criminal Record check.
  • Valid MB class 5 Drivers license.
  • Proven ability to consult productively with collateral agencies and organizations.
  • Knowledge of Community and Family strengths and needs.
  • Knowledge of the Child and Family Services (CFS) sector and legislation.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and/or understanding of Indigenous perspectives, First Nations culture and traditional philosophies.
  • Knowledge of Child Development and Indigenous approaches to community-based care.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high attention to detail.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, word processing (MS Word), Spreadsheets (Excel), E-mail (Outlook) and Internet.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to speak Ojibwa language will be considered an asset.
