Job Title: Human Resources Partner

Southeast Resource Development Council Corp. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources Partner to join our team. As a key member of our HR department, you will play a vital role in supporting the organization's HR functions and ensuring the smooth delivery of HR services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on HR policies, procedures, and compliance to employees and managers.
  • Support the recruitment process by partnering with hiring managers to define roles, screen candidates, and conduct interviews.
  • Administer the applicant tracking system, job boards, and other recruitment platforms.
  • Build and maintain a strong candidate pipeline for current and future hiring needs.
  • Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth integration into the organization.
  • Assist in the administration of the group pension and benefits programs, including enrollments, terminations, and updates.
  • Collaborate with the payroll team to ensure accurate and timely processing of employee payroll data.
  • Assist in the development and updating of HR policies, ensuring alignment with the organization's objectives and legal requirements.
  • Contribute to annual HR planning and participate in implementing HR initiatives.
  • Assist in the identification of training needs across the organization and coordinate training sessions, workshops, or other programs.
  • Monitor and follow up on employee development plans and support training and development initiatives.
  • Assist in employee offboarding, ensuring final paperwork and necessary procedures are completed in a timely manner.
  • Complete exit interviews and collect and analyze feedback from exit interviews to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of HR metrics and preparing reports as required.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in the HR system, ensuring confidentiality and data integrity.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources or Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years' experience in a HR support role or related position, with a focus on HR Administration and talent acquisition.
  • Experience with full cycle recruitment and onboarding, coordinating training and development programs, and administering benefits and pension plans.
  • Workplace safety and health related training, understanding of HR principles, employment laws, and HR best practices.
  • Previous experience in an indigenous organization is considered an asset.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with HR information systems and applicant tracking systems.
  • Ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality, communicate effectively with people at all levels, and possess strong interpersonal, organization, and time management skills.

  • Ability to work effectively with others, maintain strict confidentiality, and demonstrate personal attributes such as being ethical, honest, and trustworthy, respectful, culturally aware, and sensitive, flexible, dependable, and reliable, and possessing sound work ethics and judgment.
Working Conditions:
  • Standard office hours with occasional flexibility required for meetings or events.
  • This role may require occasional travel between different office locations or to attend external meetings and events.
  • The role may involve a moderate level of stress while fulfilling the responsibilities associated with the position.
  • Possess a valid Class 5 driver's license with a reliable vehicle.
  • Must provide a current and satisfactory criminal record check with vulnerable sector search, child and adult abuse registry checks.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to move within the office to attend meetings, retrieve documents, and assist employees.
  • Occasionally required to lift and carry materials weighing up to 15-20 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity for typing, using office equipment, and filing.
