Requisition Title: Part-time Technician - Back of House (2 Positions)

Position Overview

The incumbent will be responsible for assisting in food production within a dynamic culinary environment, specifically at the Chef's Table, which includes catering for special events. Under the guidance of the Restaurant Manager, the role emphasizes adherence to established health and safety standards while supporting student learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in food preparation and production in accordance with the Restaurant Manager's directives.
  • Provide constructive feedback to students, fostering their learning experience.
  • Maintain equipment and ensure compliance with budgetary guidelines.
  • Support the execution of special events, ensuring high standards of service and quality.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a 2-year post-secondary diploma in Hospitality, Food and Beverage, or Culinary Management.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in fine dining establishments, showcasing exceptional customer service capabilities.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered, with preference given to those meeting educational criteria.
  • Red Seal certification is preferred.
  • Smart Serve certification is mandatory.
  • First Aid certification is advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to guide students effectively.
