Freight Forwarding Coordinator

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Freight Forwarding Technician to join our team at BBE Expediting Ltd. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for coordinating the movement of goods and ensuring timely delivery to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:- Organize and coordinate the movement of goods, including freight forwarding and warehousing.
- Oversee operational logistics, including planning and organizing the flow of goods and materials.
- Co-ordinate activities with other work units or departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Monitor the movement of supplies and materials between departments.
- Prepare and submit reports to management.
- Ensure the smooth operation of computer equipment and machinery.
- Perform general office duties, including data entry and record-keeping.
- Co-ordinate activities with warehouse and production units.
- Co-ordinate traffic flow of supplies.
- Compile worksheets and specifications of orders.
- Prepare and maintain progress and other reports.
- Project management and customer service.
- Train workers in duties and policies.
- Keep track of shipments and knowledge of cross-border dispatching regulations and practices.
- Establish work schedules and procedures.
- Contact customers to deliver requested information.
- Certifications: Canadian International Freight Forwarders Association (CIFFA) Certificate and Forklift Operator Certification.
- Computer and technology knowledge: Dispatch management service software, monitoring and tracking software, electronic scheduler, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word, Adobe Acrobat Reader, and MS Office.
- Industry experience: Shipping line and expedition.
- Security and safety: Criminal record check.
- Work conditions and physical capabilities: Ability to work independently, fast-paced environment, work under pressure, tight deadlines, overtime required, and repetitive tasks.
- Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
- Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots.
- Personal suitability: Client focus, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral communication, excellent written communication, flexibility, organized, reliability, team player, accurate, and values and ethics.
