Position Summary
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineering Sales Representative for a pivotal role within our client's Kelowna branch. The individual will be tasked with advocating for all mechanical manufacturers represented by the company, ensuring precise and prompt support to all stakeholders within the HVAC domain.

Compensation
The salary range for this position is between $90,000 and $100,000.

Key Responsibilities
The Mechanical Engineering Sales Representative will be responsible for:
  • Establishing and nurturing relationships with various industry stakeholders, including engineers, architects, contractors, developers, and owners, to enhance sales and broaden market presence in alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Promoting the sale of a wide array of mechanical equipment, such as Air Handling Units, Make Up Air Units, Roof Top Package Units, Dedicated Outdoor Air Units, Heat Pumps, Chillers, and VRF systems. This involves:
    • Identifying and capitalizing on sales opportunities.
    • Conducting product selections for engineers and design/build contractors.
    • Interpreting schedules, construction drawings, and specifications.
    • Performing take-offs, preparing quotations and tenders, and issuing submittals.
    • Negotiating sales agreements.
    • Managing the entire sales cycle from initial inquiry to the end of the warranty period.
  • Engaging in self-education and attending manufacturer training sessions to stay updated on the latest product advancements and software tools, which may require some travel.
  • Keeping abreast of industry and local codes, regulations, and market trends to ensure compliance and leverage opportunities.
  • Providing timely and accurate service to the engineering community.
  • Maintaining knowledge of competitors' product offerings.
  • Conducting a minimum of 8 visits per week to various engineering firms to maintain visibility in the engineering community, including delivering presentations as requested.
  • Cross-training on other mechanical and air-side products to identify additional opportunities.
  • Training and supporting colleagues on Air Handling Units, Make Up Air Units, Roof Top Package Units, and Dedicated Outdoor Air Units.
  • Planning and executing new product introductions to the market.
  • Visiting job sites to address on-site challenges as they arise.
  • Strategically planning and accompanying customers on factory visits, with a goal of 3 to 4 visits per year.
  • Participating in ASHRAE membership and attending monthly meetings.
  • Organizing and attending trade shows as needed.
  • Participating in all divisional and office meetings.
  • Assisting in customer events, which may include open houses and sporting events.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned by management.
  • Collaborating as part of a team with a focus on customer-centric business practices.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in selling HVAC-related mechanical equipment, with 5 or more years preferred. A comprehensive understanding of mechanical products is essential.
  • A Professional Engineering Degree or a Diploma in Engineering Technology.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet Explorer.
  • The ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
  • A positive attitude, excellent attendance, ethical business practices, and reliability as a team member.
