Position Overview

The Director of Executive Communications & Content will spearhead the formulation and implementation of a holistic communications strategy that amplifies the voices of senior executives, including the President of Global Health & Sustainability and select Leadership Team members, positioning the organization as a frontrunner in global health initiatives. This role will involve crafting a unique editorial and thought leadership strategy that sets the organization apart from competitors while engaging both internal and external stakeholders effectively.

Key Responsibilities

Your duties will encompass, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee and coordinate all executive communications within the Global Health team, ensuring that the President of GH&S and selected Leadership Team members are positioned as industry thought leaders on pertinent topics.
  • Facilitate the creation and coordination of content (both written and social), townhalls, speaking engagements, and media opportunities to align with the overall Global Health and corporate communications strategy.
  • Design communication plans that effectively relay key messages to both internal and external audiences, collaborating with Corporate Communications to ensure consistency in messaging and executive positioning.
  • Direct the editorial strategy and foster a thought leadership approach for Global Health & Sustainability, executing with a proactive newsroom mentality to engage stakeholders across all channels, from digital tools to media outlets.
  • Generate and publish op-eds and other media content to establish the organization as a thought leader in the global health sector, leveraging the executive community's strengths.
  • Lead the social media strategy and channel management for Global Health and Sustainability, emphasizing the organization’s commitment to health equity through data-driven audience insights.
  • Enhance communications for Global Health associates and the broader community to showcase the Global Health team's work, inspiring and engaging associates through impactful communication strategies.
  • Manage website and intranet content to ensure alignment with broader Global Health & Sustainability narratives.
  • Exemplify a forward-thinking mindset; seek multidirectional insights to understand environments and stakeholders, embracing iterative and measurable experimentation.
  • Utilize and analyze real-time data to inform communication strategies and assess their effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field; advanced degree is preferred.
  • Fluency in English is required, with exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Extensive experience in communications, particularly in global health, sustainability, or related sectors.
  • Proven success in developing editorial strategies and content.
  • Demonstrated experience in executive communications and managing senior stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical capabilities to interpret data and insights for informed decision-making.
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with media and key stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative approach across teams.
  • Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and deliver results under tight deadlines.
