We are seeking a skilled Framer Carpenter to join our team at Take Flight Contracting Ltd.
Job Summary:The Framer Carpenter will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing structures made of wood, wood substitutes, and other materials. This includes reading blueprints, preparing layouts, measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling, and joining materials.
Key Responsibilities:- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements
- Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, and other materials
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems
- Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware
- Survey building locations and levels
- Estimate costs and materials
- Maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments
The Framer Carpenter will work in a construction environment, which may involve working at heights, in noisy conditions, and outdoors.
Requirements:- 7 months to less than 1 year of experience
- No degree, certificate, or diploma required
- Ability to work at heights, in noisy conditions, and outdoors
