Job Summary

As a Recreation Therapist, you will be responsible for creating engaging and inclusive programs that promote physical, social, emotional, cognitive, spiritual, and cultural well-being among our residents. Your creativity, passion, and expertise will help us deliver exceptional care and services that exceed our residents' expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments to determine residents' recreation and rehabilitation needs
  • Develop and implement programs that cater to diverse interests and abilities
  • Facilitate one-on-one and group programs, including music therapy and other creative activities
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care delivery
  • Evaluate and adapt programs to meet changing resident needs
  • Ensure accurate documentation and record-keeping
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners and vendors
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, gerontology, or related field
  • Experience working with seniors, preferably in a long-term care setting
  • Knowledge of dementia and mental health programming
  • Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in program development software
