About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Estimator to join our team at RTR Terra Contracting Ltd. as a key member of our estimating department. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed estimates for commercial and industrial construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Estimate Preparation: Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs for commercial and industrial construction projects.
  • Project Analysis: Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements and prepare estimates for general expenses and overheads.
  • Cash Flow and Financing: Project cash flow and financing requirements for projects.
  • Tendering Procedures: Advise on tendering procedures and prepare and maintain a directory of supplies and trade contractors.
  • Liaison and Communication: Liaise, consult, and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
Requirements
  • Education: College/CEGEP degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in commercial and industrial construction estimating.
  • Commercial and Industrial Experience: Experience in commercial and industrial construction estimating, including project size estimating experience.
  • Area of Work Experience: Experience in purchasing, procurement, and contracts, as well as project coordination.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, work under pressure, and sit or stand for extended periods.
