About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join our team at Etro Construction Limited. As a key member of our estimating department, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed estimates for construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Estimating and Bidding
    • Prepare detailed estimates of labour and material costs for construction projects
    • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of construction costs, including labour, materials, and equipment
    • Prepare and submit pre-qualification submissions to clients
  • Project Analysis
    • Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and blueprints to determine work requirements
    • Identify and mitigate potential project risks and challenges
  • Communication and Reporting
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders
    • Prepare and submit estimate reports, quote sheets, and bid forms in a timely and accurate manner
  • Cost Control and Management
    • Monitor and adjust contract expenditures to ensure projects are completed within budget
    • Develop and implement cost-saving strategies to improve project profitability
  • Administrative Tasks
    • Maintain a directory of suppliers and trade contractors
    • Perform other administrative tasks as required
Requirements
  • Education
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience
    • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in construction estimating or a related field
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
