Regional Wellness Coordinator

The Regional Wellness Coordinator is a key position within the Government of Northwest Territories, responsible for developing and implementing wellness initiatives across the Dehcho region. This role will focus on promoting mental health and wellness among students, staff, and family members in the region.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and coordinate wellness initiatives and programs in accordance with the Dehcho Wellness Unit's directives.
- Mentor and guide other members of the Dehcho Wellness Unit to ensure successful implementation of wellness initiatives.
- Collaborate with the District Education Authorities and the Supervisor of Schools to ensure alignment with regional goals and objectives.
- Build and maintain relationships with youth and community members to promote mental health and wellness.
- Research and promote health activities in the areas of mental, spiritual, and emotional health.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to relevant legislation, including the NWT Mental Health Act and the Child and Family Services Act.
- Stay up-to-date with relevant knowledge and training, including Mental Health First Aid for Northern Peoples.
- A degree in the Social Sciences, or equivalent experience.
- At least two (2) years of relevant experience in a related field.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
