Electrical Maintenance Technician

Job Summary:

Barrick is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our team. As an Electrical Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of electrical equipment and systems in our plant. You will work closely with our team to ensure that all electrical systems are functioning properly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on electrical equipment and systems
  • Identify and troubleshoot electrical issues and implement solutions
  • Work with our team to ensure that all electrical systems are functioning properly and efficiently
  • Perform physical inspections to determine if work meets company standards regarding quality, production, and safety
  • Recommend measures or changes to improve production methods, equipment performance, and use of equipment and personnel to increase efficiency of department and entire mine
  • Ensure all work completed supports activities of subsequent shifts; communicate these activities to respective supervision
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly shift reports as required
  • Complete operational checks monitoring quality and productivity ensuring established standards are met
  • Complete all required housekeeping audits

Qualifications:

  • Electrical Engineering Technologist or a candidate with extensive programming experience that has industrial electrical certification
  • Industrial electrical certification (Red Seal) would be an asset
  • Experience with GE, DC Drives, GE PLC Systems, and Auto CAD
  • Approximately five years of technical experience
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to perform duties in a safe and efficient manner
  • Experience with Proficy, iFix HMI/SCADA, Delta V, SAP
  • Knowledge of Industrial Communications Systems
