Product Design Team Leader

We are currently looking for a Product Design Team Leader to oversee our Product Design division. This position is fully remote and can be executed from various locations.

Team Responsibilities:

Design is a critical component at T-Net British Columbia, forming one of the three foundational pillars of our Research and Development sector alongside Product Management and Engineering. Product designers actively engage in understanding the behaviors and requirements of our users. They serve as advocates for user experience as we strive to transform the way businesses deliver services to their clients. As a Product Design Team Leader, you will manage a group of designers across various product domains. You will support your team members in reaching their full potential at T-Net British Columbia: enhancing their skills, achieving their professional aspirations, and refining the processes and systems utilized by the entire design community. You will play a key role in evolving and shaping the culture of our design team.

Additionally, you will be part of T-Net's product leadership, ensuring that we deliver exceptional experiences for our users. You will collaborate closely with your product management and engineering partners and advocate for the voice and experience of our users. You will mentor and guide the leads on your team to establish the design strategy for your product areas and align that strategy with T-Net's overarching objectives. This includes collaborating to ensure high-quality design briefs, vision, and success metrics produced by your team. You will identify interconnected experiences across different product areas and ensure their consistency, quality, and excellence.

You will also support senior product leadership at T-Net to influence our overall product direction as a key advocate for our users. You will pinpoint opportunities to enhance their overall experience with T-Net across various touchpoints and collaborate with other departments to execute these opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop the careers, skills, and performance of a team of designers
  • Advocate for user experience alongside your leadership partners
  • Coach and guide your product teams to collaborate effectively and create superior products
  • Support the definition of the design strategy and vision for user experiences over the next few years
  • Build a team and systems that enable you to attract and recruit top design talent
  • Maintain and elevate the quality standards of design at T-Net
  • Ensure consistency, quality, and excellence across product areas
  • Promote the significance of user experience and design within T-Net

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience managing design teams
  • 5+ years of experience in developing digital products
  • Experience working on a digital product beyond its initial version
  • Preferred qualifications include:
  • Experience in developing SaaS products
  • Experience in building products for small to medium businesses or consumers
