Creative Design Leader

Your Role and Responsibilities:
The Design Director will be pivotal in shaping and expanding Saje's brand identity across diverse platforms. This includes everything from retail environments to immersive pop-up experiences, visual merchandising, and digital design assets. This role is crucial for upholding the brand's core values while innovating beyond conventional boundaries to create memorable experiences.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and inspire a dynamic team of designers and retail specialists from concept to execution, bringing the brand vision to fruition across various channels.
- Act as a versatile strategist, utilizing your extensive experience to navigate multiple platforms, including digital, social media, retail, and performance marketing.
- Balance the execution of your own projects with overseeing the work of the design team, ensuring timely delivery and prioritization of tasks.
- Foster an environment that encourages innovative experience design, maintaining a high standard that aligns with the brand's aesthetic.
- Develop and implement a cohesive design system across all assets to streamline workflows.
- Launch ongoing programs and create impactful campaigns in physical retail spaces that are creatively engaging and drive customer conversion through educational and entertaining experiences.
- Build strong collaborative relationships across departments to ensure alignment on project requirements and feedback.
- Exhibit urgency and professionalism in line with the organization's entrepreneurial spirit.
- Lead presentations to showcase concepts and designs, gather feedback, build consensus among stakeholders, and secure necessary approvals.
- Ensure high-quality deliverables, including thorough proofreading and attention to detail.
- Enhance Saje's visual identity, including typography, communication strategies, and store design.
- Demonstrate confidence in problem-solving, actively engaging in discussions and valuing diverse perspectives as a member of the creative team.
- Collaborate closely with peers within the creative department and across the organization.
- Provide art direction throughout the creative process, from initial briefing to storyboarding, production management, and post-production review.
- Stay informed about industry trends, leading creatives, and new innovations within the competitive landscape.
Qualifications:
- Over 10 years of experience in a similar managerial role, either in an agency or brand environment, with a strong ability to engage and present work compellingly.
- Expertise in building multi-dimensional brands, utilizing design systems that ensure consistency and achieve business objectives.
- Proven experience in translating a brand platform into customer experiences, applying design thinking throughout the customer journey.
- Proficient in creating and executing across various mediums, with a focus on modern design for digital, social, retail, and content.
- Experience in motion design is a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities efficiently, planning effectively for yourself and your team.
- Capacity to work independently while drawing from a broad range of cultural references.
- A positive, solution-oriented leader who is generous with time and knowledge, mentoring others.
- While specific industry experience is not mandatory, familiarity with beauty, retail, consumer packaged goods, health, or wellness brands is preferred.
