Join Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) as a Family Physician / Emergency Physician
This position offers an opportunity for a Family Physician (FP) or Emergency Physician (EP) to engage in either a full-time or part-time role at the North East Urgent and Primary Care Clinic (UPCC) in Vancouver.
The NE UPCC is dedicated to providing urgent care for patients experiencing non-life-threatening injuries, illnesses, and conditions that require attention within 12 to 24 hours, without necessitating the services of a hospital emergency department (CTAS 3,4,5). The clinic operates year-round, seven days a week.
The facility promotes a collaborative care model, with off-site rapid access to diagnostic imaging and laboratory services. Patients are connected to suitable care pathways that include specialists, social services, and primary care providers. Notably, all treatment and follow-up will be seamlessly integrated with existing Primary Care providers, ensuring that patients are supported in finding Primary Care if they are not currently attached.
The Vancouver NE UPCC emphasizes a healthy work-life balance and is committed to the professional growth and satisfaction of its multidisciplinary team. The clinic fosters learning, skill enhancement, and continuous quality improvement through clinical simulation exercises and various quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Education, Licensing, & Experience :
Eligible for Canadian College of Family Practitioners (CCFP) – Mandatory Membership with Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) – Mandatory Current College of Physicians of BC (CPSBC) License - ProvisionalKnowledge & Skills:
Demonstrates current or recent experience in primary care along with urgent or emergent care, with a comprehensive understanding of the role and significance of foundational primary care, and the ability to integrate both aspects effectively. Exhibits a positive, energetic, and empathetic demeanor with strong communication skills and a keen attention to detail.Closing Statement
