Position Overview

Join Our Team as a Primary Care Nurse

Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team in the South East Urgent Primary Care Centre (UPCC). This role is essential in providing quality healthcare and making a positive impact in the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments and evaluate nursing care for patients and their families.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with primary care providers.
  • Utilize critical thinking skills to ensure safe patient care.
  • Deliver direct care based on established best practices.
  • Serve as a valuable resource for the interdisciplinary healthcare team.

About Urgent and Primary Care Centres:

UPCCs are designed to offer timely non-emergency medical care for various conditions, ensuring patients receive attention within 12-24 hours. Our multidisciplinary team comprises general practitioners, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, and social workers.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience

  • Must hold current registration as a Registered Nurse in British Columbia.
  • Minimum of two years of relevant clinical experience or equivalent qualifications.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong critical thinking abilities and commitment to safe patient care.
  • Understanding of primary care principles and patient-centered approaches.
  • Proficiency in evidence-based clinical practices and patient education.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work autonomously.
  • Familiarity with various health disciplines and research methodologies.
  • Physical capability to fulfill the responsibilities of the role.
