Position Overview

CB Canada is seeking a Project Manager to oversee the execution of Telecommunications, Networking, and various Information Technology Transformation initiatives aimed at enhancing Software Asset Management (SAM). This role is crucial in addressing the identified gaps in tracking and managing current software license holdings.

The Project Manager will play a vital role in outlining the project scope, dependencies, work breakdown structures, and developing necessary project documentation to facilitate the SAM implementation. Additionally, the Project Manager will contribute to the creation of the Project Status Report and will be responsible for managing the roadmaps and activities associated with SAM, ensuring effective coordination with stakeholders.

All responsibilities will be conducted on-site within the designated operational region.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Managing tasks related to sub-projects within the SAM program, identifying optimization opportunities for schedules and deliverables to support overall program objectives;
  • Preparing documentation for both scheduled and ad-hoc reporting;
  • Identifying potential risks and issues, and developing problem statements;
  • Regularly reporting on the progress of sub-projects throughout their lifecycle;
  • Engaging with stakeholders and other project managers to address and resolve challenges;
  • Creating plans, charts, tables, and diagrams to aid in problem analysis and presentation;
  • Utilizing various project management tools effectively;
  • Developing presentations for diverse stakeholders and facilitating meetings and discussions.
Qualifications:
  • A university undergraduate degree or a college diploma/certificate from a recognized institution in any field; OR a Project Management Institute (PMI) certification.
  • A minimum of seven years of experience within the last decade as a Project Manager overseeing the delivery of an IM/IT project with a budget exceeding $5,000,000.
  • At least five years of experience managing a TCP/IP router-based wide area network with over 150 router nodes.
  • A minimum of five years of experience leading a project team in collaboration with telecommunications service providers.
  • Experience as a Project Manager in telecommunication or network-related projects for government departments such as the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), Communication Security Establishment (CSE), or the Department of National Defence/Canadian Armed Forces (DND/CAF).
  • Familiarity with Project Management and Configuration Management Board practices.
  • One or more years of experience in conducting network support activities, including administration, support, and implementation.
  • One or more years of experience in a project management support role liaising with clients and Telecom Service Providers at a national level.
