Position Overview

As a Telecommunications Equipment Specialist at Horizon Canada Inc, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our telecommunications systems. Key Responsibilities
  • Fault Diagnosis: Identify and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, making necessary adjustments or repairs.
  • Equipment Inspection: Regularly assess the functionality of telecommunications devices to ensure optimal performance.
  • Installation and Maintenance: Set up, organize, and maintain telephone systems, wiring, and related hardware.
  • Repairs: Address and rectify any defective telephone equipment promptly.
  • Testing: Conduct tests on installed systems to identify transmission issues and implement solutions.
  • Reporting: Maintain comprehensive service and test reports to track equipment performance.
  • System Installation: Install various trunking systems and circuits in telecommunications facilities.
  • Training: Mentor and instruct apprentices in best practices and technical skills.
  • Customer Service: Operate computerized testing systems to evaluate customer lines and equipment.
  • Cable Management: Manage the connection, disconnection, and relocation of cable outlets.
  • Work Coordination: Determine and assign work tasks effectively.

Work Environment

This role requires the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines. Attention to detail and the capacity to distinguish between colors are essential for success in this position. The job involves a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, along with bending, crouching, and kneeling.
