Job Title: Speech-Language Pathologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist to join our multidisciplinary team at Elves Special Needs Society. As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will play a vital role in supporting children, youth, and adults with speech and language delays, or severe cognitive, physical, or social impairments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess children (early education) and youth (Grades One to Twelve) for purposes of diagnosis and treatment.
  • Prepare documents including but not limited to Assessments, Individual Program Plans (IPP), multidisciplinary and transitionary reports.
  • Offer appropriate and evidence-based intervention.
  • Oversight and guidance of the Speech and Language Pathology Assistants.
  • Assisting classroom staff in the development, writing, and monitoring of individualized communication programs.
  • Promoting the use of general communication, low tech, and Alternative or Augmentative Communication (AAC), strategies in the classroom to facilitate the development of communication skills.
Requirements:
  • Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Registration with the Alberta College of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA).
  • Experience working with children, youth, and adults with severe disabilities and augmentative communication systems preferred.
