Job Summary

The Center Director is responsible for overseeing the overall customer experience, sales, and local marketing strategies of the center to achieve performance goals and drive growth. This role involves managing day-to-day center operations to ensure a consistent, high-quality educational experience for Sylvan customers while controlling costs.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Customer Service and Sales
  • Ensure timely and high-quality personal customer service response to all inquiries.
  • Meet sales and expense financial targets.
Center Operations
  • Manage the day-to-day operation of the Center.
  • Monitor and track center performance, profit and loss controls, revenues, expenses, and fee collection.
Staff Management
  • Select, develop, motivate, and monitor center staff.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews.
Marketing and Sales
  • Manage marketing and sales activities to drive new enrollments.
  • Promote financing options that meet the customer's needs.
Collaboration and Communication
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with teachers, educational specialists, and other school administrators.
  • Conduct school visits to establish and maintain relationships with school personnel.
Center Appearance and Adherence
  • Ensure the professional appearance of the center according to Sylvan standards.
  • Ensure adherence to established Sylvan operating standards with particular attention to student safety and well-being.
Requirements
  1. Education
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Experience
  • Minimum of three years of customer service experience preferred.
  • Management experience preferred.
Skills and Abilities
  • Strong customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to effectively use customer service and consultative sales skills.
  • Proven sales skills with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Ability to track and interpret business metrics and financial statements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Working Conditions

The Center Director will work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks and priorities. The ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively is essential. A flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, may be required.
