Chief Medical Director, Clinical Operations

We are seeking an exceptional leader to fill the role of Executive Medical Director, Clinical Operations at Island Health. As a key member of our senior management team, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of healthcare on Vancouver Island.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with the Executive Director to develop and implement strategic plans for clinical programs, ensuring a patient-centered approach and alignment with Island Health's vision and mission.
- Lead the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives, ensuring that all health services meet or exceed established standards.
- Manage the organization and effectiveness of local medical staff, supporting the development and operations of the portfolio.
- Implement priority quality, satisfaction, and system improvement initiatives, including utilization management systems.
- Participate in establishing, monitoring, and allocating financial targets.
- Work in collaboration with other Executive Medical Directors to ensure integration of services.
- Support the development, acquisition, and diffusion of knowledge within the organization.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with ethical and legal requirements, accreditation standards, and Provincial and Federal legislation and regulations.
- Represent Island Health as a media spokesperson for specific portfolio issues.
- Participate in the activities of the Health Authority Medical Advisory Committee.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in healthcare leadership.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to think critically and strategically, with a focus on quality improvement and patient-centered care.
- Knowledge of healthcare policy, legislation, and accreditation standards.
- Experience with quality improvement initiatives and utilization management systems.
