Position Overview

The Grocery Store Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring a smooth shopping experience for customers at Dawson City General Store Ltd. This position involves various responsibilities that contribute to the overall efficiency of the store.

Education Requirements
  • Completion of secondary school or equivalent experience is required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Package purchases for customers, preparing items for delivery or shipment.
  • Assist customers by carrying their purchases to the parking area and loading items into their vehicles.
  • Retrieve products for customers from shelves or storage areas.
  • Guide customers to the locations of desired items.
  • Unpack and organize incoming merchandise, counting, weighing, or sorting as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of incoming stock.
  • Restock shelves and display areas to ensure product availability.
  • Keep the stock area clean and orderly.
  • Label items with prices using stamps or stickers according to the price list.
  • Perform general cleaning tasks, including sweeping and mopping floors.
  • Operate electric pallet jacks as needed.
  • Engage in order picking activities.
  • Deliver excellent customer service to enhance the shopping experience.
Physical and Work Conditions
  • Fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure.

  • Must be capable of handling heavy loads.
