Job Title: 310T Licensed Mechanic

As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and reliability of our fleet of school buses.

About the Role

As a 310T Licensed Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing and performing repairs on school buses, leading preventative maintenance and safety inspections, and ensuring all work is completed accurately and efficiently.

Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and repair vehicle and equipment issues, including brakes, engine tune-ups, suspensions, and transmission clutches.
  • Lead preventative maintenance and safety inspections to ensure vehicle readiness and safety.
  • Ensure accurate completion of work orders and maintenance records.
  • Notify supervisor of potentially hazardous equipment and corrective action taken.
  • Lead road calls and emergency services as necessary.
  • Adhere to First Student standards, policies, and procedures.
Qualifications:
  • Must have required Mechanic license.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Must have appropriate mechanics tool set.
  • Advanced problem-solving ability.
  • Advanced computer skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
