About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Mechanic to join our team at First Student Shared Services. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and reliability of our school buses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair complex vehicle issues, including brakes, engine tune-ups, and transmission problems.
  • Lead preventative maintenance and safety inspections to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to complete work orders and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities.
  • Develop and implement effective solutions to complex technical problems.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date with industry best practices.
Requirements
  • Valid Mechanic license and a strong understanding of vehicle maintenance principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Advanced computer skills and proficiency in maintenance management software.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with colleagues and management.
