Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team at First Student Canada-Transco. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and safety of our school buses by performing routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues with school buses, including brakes, engines, suspensions, and transmissions.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements.
  • Conduct safety inspections and ensure all vehicles are in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Lead preventative maintenance programs and ensure all vehicles are properly maintained.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance team members to ensure efficient and effective maintenance operations.
  • Stay up-to-date with manufacturer recommendations and industry best practices.
Requirements
  • Valid 310T Mechanic license.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Appropriate mechanic's tool set.
  • Advanced problem-solving ability.
  • Advanced computer skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
