The Project Controls Manager will play a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of our projects. This position will be responsible for developing and implementing project controls guidelines and procedures, as well as providing guidance and support to project teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement project controls guidelines and procedures to ensure accurate and timely reporting of project metrics.
  • Provide guidance and support to project teams to ensure effective project controls and risk management.
  • Collaborate with estimating, operations, and finance teams to develop and implement project-level financial forecasting methodologies.
  • Attend and contribute to project handover and kick-off meetings to ensure a smooth project start-up.
  • Provide project controls input on commercial, administrative, and reporting requirements during project setup.
  • Oversee scheduling functions to ensure projects meet standards and target completion dates.
  • Conduct detailed review and analysis of project performance control and reporting to understand and articulate key metrics and trends.
  • Ensure management is provided with timely review and progress of all projects and activities, including completion of monthly project status reports and forecasting reports.
  • Oversee and support project change management, including subcontractor claims, change requests, claims, and dispute resolution.
  • Identify commercial risks and develop mitigation measures to ensure project control deliverables.
  • Identify opportunities for project controls improvement for management review and consideration.
  • Develop, update, and manage risk mitigation plans.
  • Create and maintain a diverse and inclusive work environment.
  • Guide and mentor direct reports.
  • Partner with estimators, project managers, operations teams, and senior leadership to ensure effective project delivery.
  • Communicate effectively with external clients, partners, vendors, and subcontractors as required.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in business or engineering, or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of experience in the construction industry.
  • Proven experience and ability in planning, scheduling, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, estimating, and cost control.
  • Strong knowledge of earned value management principles.
  • Ability to produce, read, and modify schedules and scheduling curves/reports.
  • Leadership and team building skills.
  • Proven ability to effectively lead a project controls team.
  • Proven strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to clearly identify and articulate issues.
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of management and employees.
  • Proven problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented and customer-focused.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of SAP and required project controls software, which may include Primavera, Hard Dollar, Accubid.
