Your Opportunity:

Unit 32 is dedicated to providing acute medical care with a focus on holistic palliative support, patient and family education, bereavement counseling, and specialized Oncology nursing services. We are seeking a candidate who excels in collaborative environments and can deliver family-centered nursing care. This role is ideal for individuals with leadership experience and a strong background in palliative care and Oncology.

Role Overview:

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will deliver a comprehensive range of nursing services to patients, families, and communities, ensuring their safety and well-being. Your responsibilities will include utilizing nursing processes through critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making, as well as providing education, counseling, and advocacy for patients and their families. You will take on a leadership role in promoting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion, and maintenance. Your commitment to providing safe, quality, and patient-centered care will reflect the shared vision and values of Alberta Health Services.

Essential Qualifications:

- Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
- Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
- If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of specific free courses is required.

Additional Qualifications:

- Basic computer proficiency.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to foster effective interpersonal relationships.
- Experience in collaborative care settings.
- Current experience in Oncology and Palliative care is essential.
- Competence in relevant technical nursing skills and a willingness to learn new skills as needed.
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Ability to work shifts and meet the physical demands of the role.
- A strong attendance record is crucial.
- Certification in Oncology and/or Palliative care is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

- A Baccalaureate Degree in nursing is preferred.
